Censorship
Censorship: Ok.
Here it goes. For a while I have wanted to write on this topic. Now, thanks to
some dumb censor, I can respond. Why do we have censors anymore? Let me give
the example that I saw and then explain why we don't need them anymore. The Divinci Code: Ok. Here it is, my
opinion about this Divinci Code thing. Here is the one line version. September
11th: A lot of things
have been
tossed around about this. Well, here is mine. Distrust
in banking: This is
some funny
stuff. This one blew me away when I heard it. Banks are endorsed by the
FDIC
and most other federal institutions. The event happened like this. I
had a
$420.00 check written to me on a check from the bank I went to. Most
banks
policy is that if the check/account is drawn off their bank, they will
cash it.
A fee might apply, but they would never deny it. A drivers license is
all I
have ever had to have. (This gets better). The person at the bank, told
me that
all I would need is the check and my Drivers License. I brought those
items.
When I arrived at the bank, they wanted two pieces of id. So, I showed
my
Social Security Card. I was told it is not an acceptable id. When I
asked them
why is a federal id not accepted, they told me only a License and a
credit card
are accepted, due to fraud of social security cards. They even said
that the
fingerprinting on the check was not enough. Even if they did the
fingerprint,
they would still need a Credit Card. This was just amusing. Let me see
if I
remember this. In order to get a credit card, you have to have a Social
Security number. So if the SSI number is invalid and yet you get a
credit card,
the bank doesn’t care, as long as you show it. The only thing a Credit
Card
proves to me is that someone is covered in the case of a purchase. When
do we
use credit cards to prove identity? Hey, can I drive my car with just a
credit
card :) Last time I checked, if you believe someone has a false id, you
tell
them to wait a moment, contact the police, and have them check it.
That’s what
most places do. But instead, this bank's policy is not to protect
anyone, but
to deny service to the most import person, a customer. I fully
understand
policies of a business, but turning away business to not only customers
but to
people who have money in your bank, is just stupid. You tell people who
put
their money in your bank, hey spend it anyway you like, but if you
write a
check, the person receiving it, is going to produce a blood sample in
order to
cash it. Women,
Men and Sex : Oh
yeah, get ready
for this one. As I grew up, I was always told how glorious sex was from
my
peers. My parents on the other hand, didn't say hardly anything on the
subject.
So, I have put together a cute little opinion and it goes like this.
Its all
the same. Men and women are always wondering about their opposite.
Well, here
goes a pretty good explanation.![]()
I was watching the movie Grease. It was on the Family channel.
During the song Greased Lightnin' several parts were cut out or recorded
over. As a reminder, the lyrics are below. The problem is not that they cut out
the lyrics gettin lots of tit but that they cut out the lyric I can get off my rocks, but every time the
chorus was reprised, the chicks'll cream lyric was LEFT IN! My problem is simple. Both of these actions are, in theory,
the same thing. Therefore, why is one cut and the
other left in the song? If you are going to take out the bad language and
stuff, don't be two-faced. Take it ALL out or, the best option, DON'T
MESS WITH IT!
Now
I know what people say every time. "You don't want our kids seeing
that kind of stuff on TV". Well, let me explain something to you. When I
see a 12 year old boy in a Kroger store shopping with his mother who asks him
if he wants a particular thing and the kid replies back "I don't
like that shit" or in another incident a kid said "fuck no" and was not beaten to a bloody pulp as I would have been if I did that same
action, a small influence in a song is not harmful.
Here is
problem number 2. I freelance DJ from time to time and when I have to censor a
song, I get booed! Or, people will ask, what word was supposed to be there. If
you want an example of how stupid this sounds, listen to the song 'Holla Back Girl'. Without the words in it, it
sounds stupid. Yet, I will hear kids sing along with it with the correct word
in there. Just like another song from the 80's 'Mony Mony' by Billy Idol. It didn't have
any bad lyric in it. Yet, sometime after the song got popular, lyrics were
added. (Here she comes now singing Mony Mony. (Hey, hey what? get laid get fucked)) Even when I was
helping at the Elephant Bar with a radio station broadcasting live on the
radio, people in the club would shout those extra lyrics and people would LOVE
IT!
In
closing this topic, I quote the famous George Carlin. "There are no such
things as bad words. The words themselves are harmless. The words themselves are
just words. It the racist cock-sucking bastard using them in
the wrong context that is the problem." And last quote from
Madonna. "I know my art is racy. I wrote it that way and am expressing
myself. If you don't like it, don't listen
Well this car is systematic, hydromatic, ultramatic, Why, it could be Greased Lightnin!
We'll get some overhead lifters and some four barrel quads, oh yeah
Keep talkin ', whoah, keep talkin'!
Fuel injection cut off and chrome plated rods, oh yeah
I'll get her ready, I need to get her ready!
With a four-speed on the floor, they'll be waitin' at the door
You know that ain't no shit when we'll be gettin' lots of tit
Greased Lightnin'
(Chorus:)
Go, Greased Lightnin'
You're burnin' up the quarter mile
Greased Lightnin', go Greased Lightnin'
Go Greased Lightnin'
You're coasting through the heat lap trails
Greased Lightnin', go Greased Lightnin'
You are supreme
The chicks'll cream
For Greased Lightnin'
Go, go, go, go....
We'll get some purple pitched tail lights and thirty inch fins, oh yeah
A palomino dashboard and duel-muffler twins, oh yeah
With new boosters, plates and shocks
I can get off my rocks
You know that I ain't braggin',

'SO???'
Ok. Now to explain.
I
actually watched that 'Breakthrough' minister talk about the facts
behind the false statements made by the book/movie. I can sum up with
one of his own lines why this entire thing is about as effective as
trying to shake hands with someone with no arms. He said, 'The novel
and movie are based on a doctrine that was published 100 years after
the events it portrayed. Therefore since it was written that long
after, it can not be stated as fact nor accurate' Hey, Mr. all knowing
minister guy, the bible was written WAY MORE than 100 years after the
events it portrays. Does that mean he is saying that the bible is not
accurate?
What I say is this, Who Cares? It is a movie. If
people want
to take it as a shame against their spirituality, fine. But as I have
said about these people till my ears fall off. Stop telling me how I
should feel! Things do not offend me the way that people say they are
supposed to. I quote Ron Howard (Director of Divinci Code) 'I am not
adding a disclaimer. If you are that worried about the film, DONT GO
SEE IT!' Way to go Ron! About time someone stood their ground and spoke
it like it is. Stop changing everything in the world just because one
person is offended. Even if millions are offended, think about everyone
before you go changing shit. Here is the example. 'We need to change
the film because it offends the Christian/Catholic community' Notice
the totalarism (sp?)? It only is concerned with 1 group or people. Now
saying something like. 'We might want to think about changing this
because it could hurt some peoples feelings and beliefs' But notice
here that it doesnt say WE MUST!![]()
I, for myself, weep for
the
people who died just doing what they do on a day to day basis and I am
not
underscoring what happened. Yet, as stated, this is an opinion forum.
These
people at the heart of this act do this because we supposedly are evil
according to their religion. I can understand how that can happen as
there were
times in our history that we have done the same thing. Regardless on
that fact,
I do not feel, nor have I ever felt that a life is worth proving
anything. No
matter if you think its right or not. Even if you prove your point, the
person
is still dead. 80% of people who kill someone, even a cop, feel
terrible about
it and wonder if there was another way to solve it. That goes along
with our
racism thing. Just because you don’t like someone, is that a reason to
kill
them? Come on, what have we come to. Making them see all the people
that they
have hurt, like the old 'locks'. Remember those? You were publicly put
in shame
without any way out, and people could piss on you, throw things at you,
or
whatever they felt worthy. Now theres some good punishment!!![]()

Women and men want sex the same amount (Scientifically
documented).
Ever since we were children, we have always been curious about why we
are
different. Why do we have different locker rooms, bathrooms, and other
things?
Well, the need for sex is the same. Once kids are told about it, its
like 'Oh
WOW!' But, somewhere down the road, there is a change. A rather huge
one at
that. Men want it and will dream about it just by looking at a woman.
They
don't need prompting or need to size up the target. They will think
about that
later. Most of the time, it is 'Gee, there is one', 'I wonder what it
would be
like', and then the thought process kicks in. Women, believe it or not,
go thru
those same steps, but there are more of them and they need outside
opinions.
That seems to be the problem. If a man sees it and wants it, there is
no other
thought. But, if a woman wants it, there are requirements and thoughts
on 'how
can I get him to do it the way I want', asking the girlfriends 'Gee,
what do
you think he would be like'. The funniest statement I have heard
referencing
sex from a man was 'on top, under, whatever, just get it in there'.
Gee, wonder
if that about sums it up. But with women, it seems to be more of a
treasure,
something not parted with, a prize. 'Jump thru this hoop, do this for
me, and
you get your cookie'. Well, that could also be why men seem to have it
more
than women because there is no requirement. Even if a women is not
attractive,
a man will try it and deal with the consequences later.
Here's the funny part. Once a woman has had all of these
'requirements' above met or found someone that just sends her flying,
it seems
an attempt to catch up and then a reversal happens. The woman will want
it
non-stop, or as much as possible, and the man becomes bored with the
same thing
and wants something new. For the woman, if this excitement or magic
dies,
another must be found who can 'jump thru the hoops'. That is one of the
reasons
why there is so much before-marriage sex. Men and women want to size up
what
they have, then get married (Almost like a test drive on a car). Funny
how life
is. The thing that is the greatest is the couples that have found each
other,
some thru the above example, and have made sex the non-driving force.
Once sex
is looked at as only a way to make children, it becomes a non-vital
part of a
relationship and other things that should have made the relationship,
can come
to the front. However, one thing that is wrong with sex is that it
feels to
damn good. Yes, I know, I am a man, but as a famous comedian once said
'There
isn't a woman here tonight who wouldn't want a big, stiff, one in them.
(Eddie
Murphy)' Well, I can only ponder if that's true.![]()
